Crawlera outputs bytecode not html

a basic curl works fine and I get html back: 


curl "https://www.amazon.com"


When I request using proxy.crawlera.com then it returns a bytecode reponse:

curl -x proxy.crawlera.com:8010 -U <VALID API>: "https://www.amazon.com"

Add --compressed flag, seems like it is returning gzipped content.
